Between June and July 2017, PhD student Víctor Moreira is visiting the Marine Microbial Ecology Lab at the University of California Santa Cruz. In collaboration with Kendra Turk-Kubo and Jon Zehr, they are building the phylogenetic tree of the diazotrophic community present in the Galician Upwelling System and investigating the fine diversity of the UCYN-A organism, which is considered a key component of the global diazotrophic community.
